5-20-15

Greetings my friends!

I hope this message finds you all enjoying a magnificent hump day! When I say magnificent I mean rainy… Though, the rain does put a damper on outdoor activities, it brings life and bloom to the natural world around us and that is a wonderful thing. And the rain might put a damper on outdoor activity, but it has never stopped the UBFM disciplists from delivering food, supplies, and love to our friends and neighbors on the streets.

I want to take a few lines to thank the UBFM community and volunteers for all of the work you do for this organization. It has been such a blessing to witness the work you do for our friends and neighbors in Memphis. You are a light in darkness that seems to continue to spread. The UBFM vision is very apparent and you have taken to another level. The work you do is a sample of the love of Christ that exists in the world. Thank you for being a part of it!

Don’t forget that the 2nd Annual UBFM Silent Auction featuring Big City Circus is June 19th at Central BBQ, Downtown. It will be here before you know it. If you have any questions or you would like to contribute to the auction contact, Ellen Hudson. ellen.hudson17@gmail.com

Despite the rain we will meet at our regular scheduled time tonight and place: 7:30 PM at FUMC, 204 N Second St, Memphis, TN 38105. If you would like to help with preparing some burritos, we will get started in the kitchen around 6:00 PM. We will roll out around 8:00 and return around 9:30 or 10:00. If you plan on riding with us I look forward to seeing you and serving with you. If you are joining us for the first time all you need to bring is a bike, helmet, backpack, and a giving spirit. I light rain jacket might be a good idea as well. Try to remember to put some flashing lights on your bikes. You can purchase front and rear flashers at any bike shop or sporting goods store. These lights allow motorists to see us and it also allows our friends on the streets to see us and know we are near.

If you are unable to join us I ask that you pray for our mission. Pray that we are safe but pray that we find people who are in need of our offering. Pray that we make a difference in someone’s life and pray that we make an impact on our city. Thank you for all of the time, donations, and prayers you all give to this mission.

Peace
