Greetings and good day UBFM!

I hope you all had a great weekend in rejoice for the celebration of our moms. By the numerous posts of mom photos on Facebook, it appeared to be a celebration day for many of you.

This week’s weather has offered several small storms and scattered showers. It appears that they are still on the move. There is a slight chance for rain this evening but it doesn’t look as if to be such a downpour. Nevertheless, that has not stood in the way of our Wednesday night rides in the past. I have some good stories to tell about Wednesday night storms and I know many of the other members have some to share as well.

Last week I was not present for the ride. I took a midweek sabbatical to clear my mind and to take in some state park wildlife (single track). The purpose was certainly accomplished. I want to thank all who came together to see all UBFM operations through. It seemed to be a delightful night for a ride and a magnificent crew came together to deliver food, serve, and offer love and friendship to our friends on the streets. Many thanks go to the people who prepared burritos, donated supplies, donated funds, participated in the ride, and offered countless prayers. Thanks be to God for bringing these people and resources together and allowing this mission to take place. God bless you all for what you do.

Last Saturday we started a new ride. Our faithful UBFM member, Taylor Merritt, organized a Saturday morning ride. Instead of making bean and beef burritos, we made a load of breakfast burritos. Since the group was small we just focused on the downtown area. This was a very successful mission. I think this opened up many more opportunities for our ministry. With this ride, even more people can participate. If you have been thinking about riding with us but you are unsure about traversing your bike around Memphis at night, this is a great way to check it out. If you are able, come join Taylor this weekend for our Saturday morning ride. We meet at First United Methodist Church:  204 N Second St, Memphis, TN 38105, at 7:30 AM. Someone will probably be there at 7:00 to get started with food. The group will roll out at 8:00 and the ride will last about an hour.

Tonight we will meet at our regular scheduled time and place: 7:30 PM at FUMC, 204 N Second St, Memphis, TN 38105. If you would like to help with preparing some burritos, Brent will get started in the kitchen around 6:00 PM. We will roll out around 8:00 and return around 9:30 or 10:00. If you plan on riding with us I look forward to seeing you and serving with you. If you are joining us for the first time all you need to bring is a bike, helmet, backpack, and a giving spirit. If you are unable to join us tonight I ask that you pray for our mission. Pray that we are safe but pray that we find people who are in need of our offering. Pray that we make a difference in someone’s life and pray that we make an impact on our city. Thank you for all of the time, donations, and prayers you all give to this mission. This is simply the work of God’s hands through God’s people. It is such a blessing to witness what you do.

Peace
