Good morning UBFM!

I hope this message finds you enjoying this beautiful spring morning in some way or another. I am so happy to finally feel some spring weather. It was not long ago that we were all complaining about the cold temperatures. I have a feeling we will soon be complaining about the heat. At any rate, the forecast for our ride tonight looks magnificent.

I would like to thank all the gracious, giving folks that came together for last Wednesday night. We might have reached a near record of made burritos last week. I do not remember our previous record but last week we distributed a total of 360 bean/rice and beef/bean burritos. I would like to thank the 25 discyplists (cycling disciples) who showed up with bikes to distribute food and supplies to our friends on the streets. An equal amount of thanks go to all of the people that helped prepare our burritos. And, let me not forget all of the people that donated funds, supplies, and dedicated many prayers. We are able to make this organization operate because of the efforts you put forth.

Last week I mentioned coming together for an additional ride. We were unable to start this ride last week. However, this week we will begin. The ride will be much like our Wednesday night adventure except it will take place Saturday morning at 8:00 AM and we will be delivering breakfast burritos. Faithful UBFM member, Taylor Merritt has volunteered to coordinate this ride. I ask that you pray for him and our new UBFM mission. We will meet at the church at 7:00 AM to start preparing food and depart at 8:00. We will start on a small scale this week and not make quite as many burritos. I’m certain it will grow as we continue. If you are unable to make the Wednesday night ride, this will be a good opportunity to help out.

If you are interested in making donations you can do so on our website. If you would like to donate supplies we are in need of bottled water, hygiene supplies, and insect repellant. These items can be dropped off at 124 Roberta Dr. Memphis 38112. We will soon be coordinating some summer care packages to distribute. I will be looking for someone to help lead a summer care package project. Let me know if you have any interest.

I will not be participating in the ride tonight. I am on a little sabbatical. If you have any questions direct them toward Frank Rouse, Frank Fournier, Amy Hutcheson, or Taylor Merritt.

If you plan on joining the ride tonight we will meet at the same time and place: First United Methodist Church, 204 N Second St, Memphis, TN 38105, at 7:30 PM. We will also meet at this location on Saturday morning except we will meet at 7:30 AM. If you would like to show up early tonight to help with prep I’m sure our burrito cook, Brent can use the help. If this is your first time helping all you need is a bike, helmet, backpack, and a giving spirit. If you are unable to make the ride I ask that you pray for our mission. Pray that we are safe while we ride but pray that we find the people that are in need. Thank you all for the love and support you all invest to this organization!

Peace
