Good Morning Everybody!
When I went out this morning to put the trash to the curb I
was relieved to not have the air pulled from my lungs by the oppressive August
humidity. It's actually pleasant in the middle of August in Memphis. I've lived
here all of my life and I don't ever recall weather like this in the middle of
Summer. We are either going to pay this winter, or this is Mother Natures way
of saying, "Hey Memphis, Sorry about last Winter." "My
Bad." Whatever it is, I'll take it.
Tonight we will be without the talents of Brent David in the kitchen at
6, but I know David Corum
and Gary W Gardo will be there and
you should be there too. They get things going around 6 and we will head out to
ride at around 8. If you can't get there at 6, please come ride with us at 8.
We are only out for around 2 hours and the joy we will bring to folks will last
much longer than that. All you need is a bike, a helmet and a backpack or
messenger bag. The address is First Methodist Church at 2nd and Poplar and you
can park in the lot across the street from next to the church for free.
As you know this is mosquito season here in Memphis and a
lot of our brothers and sisters on the streets ask for bug spray when we go
out. If you would like to donate, please feel free to drop off at my place here
at 3663 Autumn Ave, Memphis Tn 38122, or call me at 901-491-8327 and we can
arrange a meet up.
I'd also like to send out a big thank you to Skip Griffin who dropped
off several cases of water and other essentials at my place yesterday. I can
have the worst day at work, but seeing that when I pull in the driveway makes
it all go away. Thank you very much!
Cheers,
Frank
