Greetings my friends and Happy Winter!
I hope you all have received your artic blast for the year.
I am certain that I have received enough cold weather to last me two or three
years. I am over it. However, it seems that we will be getting a little more before
it subsides. It is to my understanding that that the temperature is going to
drop to a painful single digit tonight.
As Frank Rouse has posted, we will not ride tonight. It is
not so much the chill that’s holding us back as it is the icy roads. However,
our friends on the streets need our assistance more right now than they do
throughout the year. Tonight, our mission includes getting people off of the
streets and into warming shelters. It might be a little more difficult than
usual. Our bikes allow us to find people and reach them a more effectively.
Since we are using cars we will have to look a little closer. Despite the cold
weather, there will be people who choose to stay out. You can plead with them,
but you cannot force them. It will be necessary to take extra blankets to
distribute to those who choose to endure the storm.
This night will be a good time to get involved if you do not
have a bicycle or attend the regular rides. I think we will need the extra help
transporting people to the shelters. If not, to be prepared is best. Let us try
our best to make sure that we at least give everyone the option to sleep in a
warm shelter tonight.
Peace
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying,
‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You
drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we
see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will
answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My
brethren, you did it to Me.’
