8-10-16
Greetings and
happy hump day!
I have a few
pieces of information to share. First I want to remind everyone that we still
meet for a ride on Saturday morning.
The Saturday morning ride is much like the Wednesday night ride but it starts
at 8:00am and it is a little shorter. Rather than venture into the midtown
area, the ride is limited to downtown. It is a great way to experience the city
and a great way to start your weekend. The group meets at the church to start
cooking at 7:00am and the ride starts around 8. All of the needs and
requirements are the same (see below).
Next I want
to invite you to the Auto Zone Park on September 1st for 901 Day
Exposure. This is an event that allows businesses and non-profits like UBFM to
get some publicity. We have been invited to set up a tent and give out some
flyers, stickers, and such. If you are a regular UBFM volunteer I would like to
invite you to come and talk about some of your experiences with the
organization. If you want to come and help, be there at 5:30 PM. The event will
last from 6-9pm. Click here for info.
Also, we are
sponsoring the BCB 100 Century Ride this year. It is on October 1st.
We will have a tent at the start and finish to provide info in regard to our
regular rides. We will also sponsor one of the rest/SAG stops. At the rest stop
we will offer burritos to the riders
(of course). But, we will need to provide a few hundred burritos for the event.
We will be able to make these on site. I am looking for people to volunteer for
this ride. Email me know if you are interested in helping fattire77@gmail.com. For more information
about the ride click here.
Finally… We
will meet tonight at 7:30 and ride out at 8:00 we will return around 9 -9:30.
We meet at the Carpenter's House, same address as the FUMC (see below). If you
would like to help prepare burritos, we will start in the kitchen of FUMC at
6:30.
