1-11-17

Greetings Folks!

I hope you all had a happy New Year! And, since we are already a week and a half into 2017, I hope your resolutions and new commitments are going as planned. I have a lot of personal commitments planned for the year but since my year started with a two-week immersion grad class I will be a couple weeks late starting them. I am okay with it.

Do you have any fresh thematic plans for the year? What do I mean?? Here is an example: one of my friends has proclaimed 2017 to be his year for making connections. What a great idea! He made a plan for the year: to make new connections through new relationships, pre-existing acquaintances, and other numerous communicative forms of building community. It is not necessarily a resolution but a theme. It might even support a resolution. When he explained it to me I put some thought into it. I have decided to create an overlying theme for my year. I am still working on it but I want it to be something that will benefit my neighbor and myself. I have considered the year for organization, communication, taking the long way (there are many theological implications to that), the year of listening, or meditation. So, do you have a theme for 2017? This might be the year for giving, sharing, connecting, or compassion. If it is, UBFM is a good place to start. We try to build connections, meet needs, share with, love, and show compassion for our neighbors. If you are interested in being a part of a very unique faith community that strengthens conviction through phileo love, compassion, and acts of kindness we have a place for you. Also, if you’re interested in discovering a theme for 2017, hit me up and maybe we can bounce some ideas around. Fattire77@gmail.com
