Greetings and Happy New Year UBFM!

Peace and blessings to you all on the New Years day! I hope you all had a great night celebrating the occasion and bringing in 2014. I apologize for the delay in updating our post. I think we can all relate when I say this is a very busy time of the year with traveling, visiting with families, and working. Nevertheless, I hope the season has brought joy and cheer to you all.

Last week, on Christmas day, we were able to witness a profound blessing. We prepared largely before Wednesday night by creating some gifts to distribute to our friends on the streets. We made over 50 gift packages packed with goodies. All of the packages were delivered in addition to almost 300 burritos (a large portion of these were made with ground beef), 3 cases of bottled water, and several blankets and coats. Twenty-three people came together to deliver supplies. It was a cold night but that did not stop this group of compassionate bike riders from spreading love and joy around the city. Many thanks go to all of those who made this evening possible. Thanks to all of the bike riders who delivered provisions but also thanks to the people who donated funds and supplies, those who cooked burritos, and those who were praying for us. It is such a blessing to witness something like this happen every week. I hope you can all join us in the future.

This week kicks off a new year. I have a good feeling about 2014 for Urban Bicycle Food Ministry. I feel like some good things will happen. I have been in contact with different people discussing opportunities for fundraising as well as collaborating with other organizations. UBFM is simply a group of people who appreciate spreading love and hope to people regardless of who they are. That is our mission in a nutshell. We spread the Gospel on two wheels. That mission will continue irrespective of what advancements we make. As we grow, opportunities are manifesting for us to reach more people and spread our message of love. I am so excited to see what this year brings and see this magnificent group of people work together. When I witness the compassion of this group I feel like I see God first hand. Where there is love, there is God.

If you are interested in joining us tonight we will meet at our usual time of 7:30 PM. My door will be open at 6:30 if you would like to arrive early for preparation and any bike maintenance.
We meet at:
124 Roberta Dr.
Memphis, TN 38112
We will try to roll out at 8:00 and return at 10:00. For those planning on riding with us I look forward to seeing you and serving with you. If you are unable to join us I ask that you send some prayers for safety and guidance. Pray that our lights are bright in Memphis that we make a difference for the people we meet.

Peace
