Greetings my friends!
I hope this message finds you in the middle of a happy
Wednesday. Thankfully, it seems the violent weather has subsided. I hope you
are all safe and did not suffer from it. Let us keep those in our prayers that
were affected by the storms.
I am going cover a few bits of news but first I want to
thank a great group of folks for all of the help last week. Last Wednesday
night we distributed over 300 burritos, several cases of bottled water, and a
lot of other miscellaneous items. Thanks to the magnificent group that helped
distribute all of the supplies. Twenty-five compassionate discyplists showed up
prepared to serve the community. Also, thanks to all of the folks that prepared
burritos, invested time, offered donations, and prayed for our mission. It
takes all of these elements to make this mission possible. Thank you for being
part of it.
One of our loyal members and leaders has stepped up to
coordinate another UBFM ride. Taylor Merritt has asked to start a Saturday
morning ride from the same location. The only difference is we will make
breakfast burritos rather than the traditional. It only makes since, right? It
is likely that this ride will start this weekend. I am not fully certain of
that but I will post an update and Facebook event when it is certain. If you
have Saturday morning free and would like to help out with UBFM, this is your
chance. Stay posted for more updates in regard to this ride.
Tonight we will meet at our regular scheduled time and
place: 7:30 PM at FUMC, 204 N Second St, Memphis, TN 38105. If you would like to
help with preparing some burritos Brent will get started in the kitchen around
6:00 PM. We will roll out around 8:00 and return around 9:30 or 10:00. If you
plan on riding with us I look forward to seeing you and serving with you. If
you are joining us for the first time all you need to bring is a bike, helmet,
backpack, and a giving spirit. If you are unable to join us tonight I ask that
you pray for our mission. Pray that we are safe but pray that we find people
who are in need of our offering. Pray that we make a difference in someone’s
life and pray that we make an impact on our city. Thank you for being a part of
this organization!
Peace
