9-11-13

Greetings and Happy Wednesday UBFM!

I hope this message finds you all in the early part of a pleasant hump day. Not only is it Wednesday and UBFM meeting day but 9/11. Allow us all to take time and remember the tragedy that happened twelve years ago on this day. Let us always remember and pray for those who still mourn many losses. And let us give thanks for and to those who dedicate their lives serving and protecting us.

Last week was another fantastic week. Thank you all for the help and support! Seventeen compassionate people came together to distribute nearly 300 burritos, 50 care packages, and several cases of bottled water. The care packages we have been creating and distributing contain some necessities and a lot of snacks. See pictures below. Many thanks go to an awesome group of bike riders who assisted in spreading these items around town. The work you all do is remarkable! Also, thanks to all who donated supplies and burritos for us to distribute. I’m always humbled by the way every Wednesday night comes together. I’m not sure how it all comes together; it just does.

There is a 30 percent chance for rain tonight but a 70 percent chance of it not raining. The odds are unquestionably on our side for not getting rained on. J However, if it does come a shower, since it is 90 degrees out, I will salute it. We still have two large boxes of care packages to disperse. We have some bottled water left from last week but we can definitely use some more. If you would like to donate supplies to be distributed please bring it by 124 Roberta Dr. 38112. You can leave anything on the porch. Some items that we commonly distribute are:
Chips
Beef jerky
CANDY (I promise that I am not eating it)
Bottled water
Sodas
Apples, oranges, or other fruits
Burritos or burritos supplies (beans, rice, cheddar, tortillas)
Any other packable snack food.

If you are planning on riding tonight I look forward to seeing you and serving with you. If you are unable to make it, send us some thoughts and prayers for safety. Pray, also, that we locate those who are in need of our help. Thank you all for your love and foundation toward this ministry. Regardless of whether you are riding with us, making and/or donating food, praying for us, or simply talking about us you are a big part of this ministry. Cheers and God Bless!

Peace
