Greetings and Happy Wednesday UBFM!
I hope this message finds you all fully recovered from a
pleasant three-day weekend. If only they were all a little longer. If only
there were one more day of the week, I would call it Funday, the day after
Sunday. This day would be utterly reserved for playing outside (riding trails)
and drinking good beer. Good beer only! Cheap beer cannot be sold in stores on
Funday. Yes, these are my thoughts before I collapse into a slumber at night.
Anyhoo, since the days of the week are unquestionably set in
stone, let us enjoy this Wednesday! Last week came together with rich success
and blessings. I would like to thank all of the groups and individuals that
came together to donate supplies and their time to make our mission possible.
We distributed nearly 300 burritos, 10 cases of bottle water, and approximately
50 care packages. Nearly 70 lbs. of beef jerky was distributed among the care
packages. “Where’s the beef?” asks the old lady in the mid-80s Wendy’s
commercial. Well ma’am, I found it. It was in my dining room last week. And
there was a lot of it. (If you are under 30, see the video below)
I hope to have another great Wednesday night full of God’s
missional work. We still have a lot of supplies left over for care packages. If
anyone would like to show up early and help assemble them my door will be open
at 6:30 PM. If you have any supplies to add to our care packages bring it over
and we will separate it into individual packets. We have been putting anything
from socks and soap to beef jerky and apples in these packages. An ingredient
that many people look for in the packets is candy. We always accept candy
donations for our care packets (preferably the kind that doesn’t melt).
For all of you that plan on coming out for the ride tonight
I look forward to seeing you and serving with you. If you are unable to attend I
ask that you send us some prayer for safety and guidance. Spread the word of
our mission so that people will know who we are and what we are doing. Thank
you all, again, for the help, donations, support, publicity, prayers, and love.
We are able to do this on a weekly basis because of your efforts and the work
God does among you. God Bless!
Peace
