Greetings and salutations UBFM!
I hope this message and post finds you all in the beginnings of a marvelous week. I love this weather! I was blessed with the opportunity to have some time in the wilderness yesterday. This time of the year has to be the best (in my opinion). It is also my favorite time of the year for Wednesday night meetings. With that being said, lets make plans for this week's gathering.
The past two weeks have been great, except we've had a little heavier of a work load. We are still trying to deliver the same amount of food but we have started allocating a lot of supplies such as blankets, jackets, and such. (thanks to all who have been donating stuff) This is awesome! However, participation has decreased. Last week 7 amazing disciplists stepped up their game to deliver food and supplies to our brothers and sisters on the streets. In addition Jeff Sobocinski's gang (as you can see from posts below) delivered large quantities of supplies throughout the week.
If you have some Wednesday nights free this fall and winter season, come and join the efforts in fulfilling our weekly mission. It's about a 14 mile ride from start to finish. With all of the stops, it takes about 1.5 hours. It is an easy ride, it's fun, and it's very rewarding. When I say rewarding I'm referring to the beer we drink after the ride. (and much more:))
We will move forward with our regular schedule: meet at my house around 7:30 PM. My doors will be open at 6:30. Feel free to show up early to shoot the bull and/or take care of any bike maintenance. We will try to roll out at 8:00 and return around 9:30 or 10:00.
If you plan on riding with us I look forward to seeing you, serving with you, and sharing some fellowship with you. If you are unable to ride I ask that you send us some thoughts and prayers. Pray for our safety, that our lights be bright (physically and spiritually) and that we find those who are in need. If you are not the praying type I ask that you simply share the word of our mission. Tell people who we are and what we do. We are always taking donations. www.ubfm.org
Thank you ALL for what you do to help. Thanks to the riders who are relentless in donating supplies every Wednesday night. Thanks to the burrito preps who make food for us to distribute. Thanks to all who are donating funds and supplies to keep us going. Thanks to our vendors who give us food and supplies to hand out. Thanks for all of the prayers and shares. We love you all!
