Greetings and Salutations UBFM!
I hope this post finds you all concluding a marvelous
weekend. I just stepped outside to realize that it is about ten degrees cooler
than it was yesterday and that makes me happy. I hope I am not alone with these
sentiments. Break out the flannel, jackets, and arm warmers!
Last week was a success. I have to admit, just before we advanced,
I was a bit nervous. We only had 8 riders and nearly 300 + burritos, several
cases of bottled water, a large box of beef jerky, and hundreds of granola
bars. However, with the great help of 8 pedaling discyplists and two patient
and gracious drivers, we were able to distribute all of the supplies. I want to
thank all of my burrito cooks for supplying us with food logs to distribute.
Thank you also for the many prayers and thoughts regarding our mission. We are
able to do what we do because you are part of this.
This week I am looking forward to a repeat of last week
except I hope to pack a few more jackets, blankets, and some warm gear. Several
requests for blankets and sleeping bags were made last week. I hope to
accommodate to those specific individuals. I have a few blankets left form last
year. I think they will be allotted this week. I want to encourage you all to
collect blankets and sleeping bags for us. Or, if you have any old ones that
you need to part with let me know.
If you plan on riding with us Wednesday I look forward to
seeing you and sharing some fellowship. We will load up at our usual time of
7:30 PM. You are more than welcome to show up early to chill and shoot the
bull. My doors will be open at 6:30.
If you are unable to join us I ask that you send us some
thoughts and prayers. Pray that our lights be bright and our journeys are
blanketed with safety. Pray that we have the opportunity to make a difference
in someone’s life. Spread the word of our
mission so that people will know who we are and what we are doing. Share our
website! www.ubfm.org
Peace
