Greetings and Happy Hump day UBFM,

I was so happy to witness some nice rays of spring time this morning. It seems that we will experience some very pleasant weather this evening as well as this week. I think Saturday night will be a great night for some live music, good food, and a silent auction. I’ll get to that in a moment.

First, I would like to thank all of the folks that contributed to lasts week’s mission. We were able to deliver over 300 beef and bean burritos. In addition, we allocated loads of bottled water, snacks, and sodas. Many thanks go to the 19 pedaling discyplists that showed up armed with bikes, backpacks, and a loving spirit. Also, thanks to the folks that prepared burritos, donated food and supplies, donated funds, and prayed for this organization. Without this support our mission would not be possible.

Since the weather is getting warmer I suspect we will see more people out tonight. There is usually a correlation with weather and the amount of supplies we distribute. With that being said, I hope to make a few more burritos. Also, I expect to distribute more bottled water. There will likely be a request for it. If you don’t have plans tonight we could use the extra wheels and volunteers.

As many of you know we have a couple of fundraisers this week. Thursday night, at the Memphis Circuit Playhouse, the premiere of Grace will be showing. We have special tickets for this showing. Our tickets include food from Get Fresh Catering and drinks from High Cotton Brewing Co. This is a private showing. The actual play does not start until Friday. You have the opportunity see it fist. The show starts at 8:00 PM. Show up early for food and drinks. UBFM will be set up in the Memphian Room. We will have tickets for sale at the door.

Also, our silent auction is Saturday night. We have catering from Central Barbeque and live music from Big City Circus! There is quite a mixture of items up for auction. Several items have been donated from local artists as well as local businesses. Many thanks go to the people that have contributed to this event. The event will be held at the Overton Park Clubhouse. We will get started at 7:00 PM; music will begin soon after. We will wrap up around 10:00. You can purchase tickets here:  http://www.eventbrite.com/e/urban-bicycle-food-ministry-silent-auction-with-big-city-circus-tickets-10927609775
Or, you may tickets at the door. All of the money we raise from these events will be used for future UBFM projects.

If you plan on joining us for our ride tonight we will meet at our regularly scheduled time of 7:30 PM at First United Methodist Church.  204 N Second St, Memphis, TN 38105. If you would like to show up early to help our burrito chef, Brent, you are welcome to show up at 6:30. We will load up and roll out at 8:00 and try to return to the church around 10:00 for pizza and fellowship.

Many thanks to all who contribute to this ministry. Thank you for the donations, supplies, the time, and the countless prayers. It is because of all of the love and support that we are able to reach so many folks. God Bless!

Peace
