Greetings and Happy Wednesday UBFM!

I hope this message finds you in the middle of a magnificent week. The weather has been superb! Finally, I have reason to cut the legs off of my jeans. That’s how you know spring has arrived. Though, the temperatures have been quite pleasant, it seems we have some rain closing in on our ride tonight. According to the forecast the rain will be spotty but there is a fifty percent chance we will not get wet J. If you plan on riding with us tonight, to be on the safe side I recommend adding a rain jacket to your gear bag.

Last week a magnificent group of 18 cheerful givers showed up with bicycles to spread love, friendship, and burritos over midtown and downtown Memphis. It was to my honor to witness this group and have the opportunity to serve by their side. Let me not forget all of the folks who, weekly, invest time and hard work to support our mission. Thanks to all of the pedaling disciplists but thanks to our friends that donate funds, burritos, supplies, and a plethora of prayers. Last week we delivered nearly 300 burritos, several cases of bottle water, sodas, and snacks. In addition we distributed a number of blankets, sleeping mats, and miscellaneous clothing items. Thanks to all of the people who contributed to the organization and our mission.

We are closing in on some very exciting fundraisers. This Friday, at Poplar Lounge, you can experience Super Duper Monster vs. the Easter Bunny! Come join us as we rock out with Big City Circus for Fluff on the Bluff! Also, tickets are still available for the preview showing of Grace at the Memphis, Circuit Playhouse.  This event will take place on Thursday, April 10th. I am selling special UBFM tickets for $45. This includes the showing plus food from Get Fresh Catering and beer from High Cotton Brewing Co. The show will start at 8:00 PM but I suggest showing up early for food and drinks. The Memphian room at the Circuit Playhouse has been reserved for those with UBFM tickets. If you would like to purchase tickets, email me: tommy@ubfm.org. Or, there will be some tickets available at the door on the night of the event. Finally, on Saturday, April 12th UBFM Silent Auction will take place at Overton Park Clubhouse. This event will be catered by Central Barbecue and live music provided by Big City Circus! The items auctioned will range from gift certificates from local eateries, gear from bike shops, art from local artists and many other miscellaneous items. You can purchase tickets here:
http://www.eventbrite.com/e/urban-bicycle-food-ministry-silent-auction-with-big-city-circus-tickets-10927609775 All of the funds raised for these events will go directly to funding the operation of Urban Bicycle Food Ministry. I hope you can join us!

If you plan on joining us for our ride tonight we will meet at our regular scheduled time of 7:30 PM at First United Methodist Church: 204 N Second St, Memphis, TN 38105. Feel free to show up at 6:30 PM if you would like to help our burrito chef, Brent, prepare food. We will roll out at 8:00 and return at 10:00 for pizza and fellowship. If you are unable to join I ask that you pray for our mission. Pray that we find those who are in need. Also, spread the word of our efforts. Tell people about us, who we are, and tell people about our upcoming fundraisers. Thank you all for the support, prayers, donations, and time you contribute to this organization. It is because of you, God’s people that we are able to make this happen.

Peace
