Greetings
friends and friends of friends (all the same)!
A hot, sultry,
but glorious day it is. I hope this post finds you in the middle of a joyful
week. Hump day is upon us and I am quite excited to see all of my friends. It
looks as if we might have some good weather tomorrow night as we journey into
the city to visit with our brothers and sisters on the streets.
I must share
with you that I just viewed a movie trailer to "The Hobbit: Desolation of
Smaug". Many of you do not know this but, I spend most nights of the week
reading, studying, and geeking out over Tolkien literature and Middle-Earth
commentaries. With aforementioned information and 16 views of the trailer, my
emotions are exhausted and heart rate is still elevated. Allow me to add, its
release date is on my birthday.
Anyhoo, I would
like to offer more burritos and water this week. We've been blessed with
several donations of bottled water. However, in addition to the beans and rice
donation from Los Compadres Mexican Restaurant, I would like to
have more. For those who are joining us tomorrow, we need some of our basic
ingredients: refried beans, tortillas (large), cheese, and aluminum foil (we
have plenty of rice). If you are able to stop by the store on your way and pick
up one of these items, it would much appreciated.
We will maintain
our regular routine: my doors will be open at 6:30 PM (if you want to arrive
early for bike maintenance and/or shoot the breeze), arrive at 7:30 to get
loaded ;), and we will pray out around 8:15. It is desired that we all be back
at the house around 10:00 for fellowship and snacks.
For those who
are joining us, I look forward to serving with you. For those who are not, I
ask that you send us some prayers for safety and that our lights be bright in
among the people in Memphis.
Peace
