Greetings All!
I hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful week. I hear the
weather is getting hotter by the day. However, there looks to be no rain in the
forecast. What I cannot help to notice is the hotter it is outside, the colder
my ale taste at the end of the day. Cheers to that!
As noted last week, since the warm weather has crept in, we
are running out of burritos, water, and supplies fast. This week we will be
carrying out many more burritos than usual. Groups of gracious volunteers have
put their burrito making skills to work so that we may have larger supplies to
carry out into the city this week. I would like to thank all who have donated
their time and much supplies to the ministry!
This week we will try something new. Our customary practice
is to leave 124 Roberta and separate into small groups, stopping along the way
until we reach the river (downtown). Lately, our groups have been running out
of burritos before ever reaching that point. To keep this from happening, I ask
that one group ride directly downtown without stopping. It is possible that we
may finish up a little quicker by this procedure.
Shirts! I hope to have some new shirts in by next week. One
will be the traditional style (green with white letters) and definitely some
more “CBGB” style shirts. I expect to have some more hats in as well. All
shirts and hats will be $20. All profit made on shirts and hats go back into
the ministry for supplies. I have thought much about placing our merchandise on
this website to sell. However, I have decided against it. Rather, make a twenty
dollar donation, tell me what size you want in the comment box with your
address, and I’ll mail it to you. Or, you can come by my house, pick one up and
have a cold one. We’re just urban like that ;) Also, if there might be any
artists out there who would like to design a new UBFM logo for us, I would be
honored to entertain any ideas.
If you plan on riding with us this week, I cannot wait to
see you and serve with you. If you are not, I ask that you send us some prayers
for safety and guidance. Let our lights shine bright, our hearts remain open,
and our helmets keep us safe!
Peace
