Greetings and TGIF,
I hope you are all having a great Friday and looking forward
to a delightful summer weekend. This recent Wednesday was, once again, a good
night of service and fellowship. Twenty disciples showed up on bicycles to
distribute burritos, chips, bottled water, love, and the light of Christ. I am
blessed to have the opportunity to witness this happen on a weekly basis. It is
certainly nourishment for the soul.
As the weather has quickly become warmer, we are starting to
see more people out on the streets. Therefore, we are running out of burritos
and supplies before we ever reach downtown. This week I found myself at a
convenient store purchasing snacks because I had nothing to offer to a few
people who were in need. As I have taken time deliberating on this matter, I
have concluded with a couple of resolutions. 1) We need more burritos, water,
and supplies. We will inevitably distribute what we carry out. Ultimately, I
need someone to make some more burritos for us and deliver them to my house before
we leave on Wednesday. We use refried beans, white rice, cheddar cheese, on a
large tortilla, wrapped in aluminum foil.
If you are interested in helping, shoot me an email: tommy@ubfm.org. 2) On Wednesday nights we leave my house in
small groups, make our way downtown while stopping along the way, and make our
way back to my house. If we continue to have as many riders as we have lately,
I am going to send a group directly downtown, without stopping, to visit our
regular downtown stops. In addition to these two ideas, I am open for any
input.
Thank you all for your part in making this ministry
possible. If you are riding with us, donating, sharing it with a friend, or
simply praying for us, you are a large part. Thank you and God bless!
Peace
