Greetings and happy Monday UBFM!
I am a little late for last week’s update but nevertheless I
must share. It was a beautiful night and the weather was quite pleasant. When I
began to prepare Wednesday morning I had a moment of panic. I suddenly realized
we were short on burritos and supplies. I composed the post informing you of
the meeting times, etc.… I added that our supply level was low and if possible
we needed some donations. The immediate response was overwhelming. By 6:00 PM
we secured over 20 cases of bottled water, twenty boxes of granola bars and
miscellaneous sweets, and enough ingredients for over 200 burritos. Thank you
all for your love and compassion for this ministry. There are times that doubt
comes over me and I worry about how the week is going to work out. Then I see
the humbling work of God appear among an amazing group of disciples. Thank you
all for making this ministry happen and God Bless!
This week I hope to have a duplicate of last Wednesday. It
appears there is a 40 percent chance for showers. That means we have a 60
percent chance of staying dry. I’m absolutely excited! We have some supplies
left over from last week but feel free to off drop supplies at my house. We
will inevitably distribute it. We’ve had an overwhelming request for insect
repellant. Two weeks ago many care packages were distributed that contained spray.
The recipients of those were very grateful! If you happen to find any bargains
on repellant or insect wipes, please let us know.
For the past two Sundays we have organized mountain bike
rides at Herb Parsons Lake trail. The turnout has been great and we’ve had some
fantastic rides. This Sunday, if the weather permits, we are going to have a
ride but we will do things a little different. We are going to meet at the Wolf
River Trail (Germantown Rd. entrance). The time will be announced later. Before
we begin our ride we are going to have a special ceremony by the river. Our
loyal UBFM member, Richard Davis is going to form a covenant with God in
baptism. Following this ceremony, all that are present will be welcomed to take
communion. Whether you are going to partake in the ride or not, you are more
than welcomed to attend. I hope to see you there!
Peace
